Labour Market Specialist

About the role

Altius Group, which provides rehabilitation services across Australia, is hiring a Labour Market Specialist for its Rehabilitation Services department in Sydney. Working three days a week, the role identifies realistic employment options and supports positive vocational outcomes for clients. The position is paid AUD 60,000-70,000 and offers a hybrid workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Review referral information to understand each client's needs before starting labour market research
• Search job advertisement websites for vacancies matching the client's capacity, skills and location
• Make cold calls to employers to gather labour market information
• Research the quantity and suitability of job opportunities in the client's local labour market
• Document every employer call accurately using approved templates to support detailed reports
• Work closely with referring consultants to clarify requirements and escalate concerns
• Help prepare detailed Vocational and Labour Market Reports within prescribed templates as capability grows

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights
• Experience in research, labour market analysis, vocational rehabilitation or employment services (highly regarded)
• Strong communication skills and confidence talking to employers on the phone
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute positively to team outcomes

• High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines
