Laboratory Technician – Paint Lab

About the role

Join Haymes Paint’s laboratory team to prepare and dispatch colour samples, support product development, and assist the R&D team in a fun, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and testing of new paint products.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis to support product development projects.
• Qualify raw materials to ensure continuity of manufacturing supply.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve product complaints within agreed timeframes.
• Provide testing results and technical information to internal stakeholders.
• Support Quality Control activities as required.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production‑related issues and minimise non‑conforming batches.
• Maintain laboratory systems, databases, formulations, and Bills of Materials.
• Support NATA accreditation activities and proficiency testing programs.
• Ensure laboratory procedures and documentation are consistently accurate.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or related discipline (Chemistry valued) preferred but not essential.
• Experience working in a laboratory, coatings, or chemical environment.
• High attention to detail and confidence handling materials and colour.
• Ability to manage tasks, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software systems.
