Key Account Manager – Mining Services (Balcatta)

About the role

The Key Account Manager will develop and grow business opportunities for Sodexo’s mining services, acting as the senior point of contact for assigned clients. Based at the Balcatta Support Centre, the role requires weekly travel to remote mine sites and flexibility to extend onsite time to meet operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted, long‑term relationships with site leaders, procurement, HSE and other stakeholders.
• Lead governance forums such as monthly reviews, quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
• Own contract performance against KPIs, manage change variations, scope amendments and pricing adjustments.
• Ensure financial performance meets or exceeds budget through cost control, margin optimisation and productivity initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations Managers and Site Managers to align service delivery with contract obligations.
• Champion a Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with mine site safety, food safety, WHS legislation and client‑specific rules.
• Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities, support tenders and contribute to long‑term strategic account plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in key account or senior client relationship management, preferably within the mining or facilities‑management sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding contractual and financial targets.
• Ability to travel weekly to remote sites and adapt working hours to operational requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience liaising with HSE, procurement and site leadership.
• Knowledge of safety, quality and compliance frameworks relevant to mining environments.
