Key Account Manager

About the role

Tyro, an integrated payments, banking and lending provider serving more than 76,000 Australian merchants, is looking for a Key Account Manager to join its Account Management team. The team manages a portfolio of business customers across many industries and reports to the Customer Success Manager. The role is based in Brisbane, Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Grow the existing portfolio of medium and above business customers and meet customer satisfaction to retain them
• Manage the needs of existing customers proactively to retain business and minimise churn
• Action retention and product triggers in a timely manner
• Set up regular meetings and quarterly business reviews
• Negotiate and analyse rate comparisons to retain the merchant base
• Generate referrals for new business and identify growth opportunities, including new-to-Tyro customers
• Promote Tyro banking and eComm products and expand knowledge of the product range
• Work with account admins, customer support and financial support to meet day-to-day needs, and escalate dissatisfied customers through the IDR process
• Handle ad hoc customer enquiries, initiatives, projects and campaigns as prescribed by the manager

Required profile

• 3-6+ years in client-facing or commercial roles
• Exposure to merchants, complex businesses or software/financial services (payments not essential)
• Experience selling SaaS or technology solutions, with confidence demonstrating products and leading conversations on technical capabilities and business value
• Proven track record of growing an existing portfolio
• Experience with sales targets, presenting and negotiation; understanding of pricing models desirable
• Organised, commercially driven, able to communicate professionally with senior stakeholders such as CFOs
