Junior Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Designer – Adelaide

About the role

We are looking for up to three recent graduates or early‑career professionals to join an Adelaide‑based aerospace and defence company. The role is hands‑on, allowing you to design, prototype and build real hardware from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and products using SOLIDWORKS.
• Produce prototypes and contribute to the build of hardware that will be integrated onto aerospace platforms.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers, learning manufacturing processes and best practices.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (≤2 years experience) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
• Hands‑on experience with metalwork, composites, or maker projects that demonstrate practical making skills.
• Australian citizenship and willingness to work onsite in Adelaide.

Required skills

• Proficiency or strong willingness to learn SOLIDWORKS.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, plastic injection moulding, and composites.
• Portfolio showcasing design work (especially for industrial designers).
