Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As a Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer at Hypersonix, you will design, build and maintain the company’s core IT infrastructure, spanning cloud and on‑premises environments. You will work closely with the Systems Administrator to ensure security, reliability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain cloud (AWS) and on‑premises infrastructure, including servers, networking and storage for Linux and Windows.
• Establish and grow Infrastructure as Code practice using Terraform.
• Plan and execute lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, patching, hardening and decommissioning.
• Implement monitoring, backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Provide Level 3 support for infrastructure incidents and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Implement security controls aligned to NIST 800‑171 r2 and DISP requirements.
• Document architectural decisions and operational procedures.
• Support DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipeline infrastructure (GitLab).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3‑4+ years of IT experience with at least 1 year in infrastructure, systems engineering or DevOps.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.
