Junior Drafter - Landfill, Gas Management and Remediation Projects

About the role

A technical consultancy in Melbourne is seeking a Junior Drafter to support its engineering and environmental teams. The role suits someone early in their drafting career with a strong eye for detail, who wants to develop CAD skills while working closely with and reporting to a Senior Drafter. You will prepare drawings for landfill, gas management and site remediation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings for environmental engineering projects, including landfill design, gas management systems, sample location plans and site remediation works
• Assist the Senior Drafter with design layouts, infrastructure drawings and as-built documentation
• Update and revise drawings in response to feedback from the Senior Drafter, engineers and scientists
• Maintain drawing registers, revision histories and document control records
• Apply Core-EP CAD templates and drafting standards consistently across projects
• Work with engineers and scientists to understand technical briefs and site information

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Drafting, Engineering or a related discipline, or currently studying towards one
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple drawing tasks
• Clear communication skills and openness to feedback
• Proactive, motivated and keen to learn in a technical consultancy environment
• Interest in environmental engineering, civil or infrastructure drafting (desirable)

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Civil 3D experience or willingness to learn it
