About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a friendly Italian-speaking volunteer to spend time with a gentleman who enjoys gardening and watching horse races. A weekday visit for a chat over a cup of coffee, about the garden, racing or life in general, would mean a great deal to him.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the resident once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability, for about one hour.
- Chat over a cup of coffee and share conversation about gardening, racing or everyday life.
- Be present to help reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
