IT Technician – Level 1/Junior (Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure)

About the role

Join a leading Managed Service Provider supporting professional services, finance and regulated industries across Australia. This hybrid Sydney‑based position offers exposure to modern Microsoft cloud environments, focusing on security, compliance and best‑practice IT operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prioritise customer tickets, troubleshooting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Windows issues.
• Manage device enrolment, configuration policies and application deployment via Microsoft Intune.
• Administer user identities, groups, MFA and Conditional Access in Entra ID and Active Directory.
• Support endpoint security using Microsoft Defender and assist senior engineers on complex incidents.
• Perform occasional onsite visits for onboarding, device setup and small infrastructure changes.
• Document work, own tickets from start to finish and escalate when necessary.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in an MSP or IT service provider environment.
• Strong interest in Microsoft cloud technologies and security.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple client sites.

• Microsoft Intune device management and Autopilot
• Entra ID / Azure Active Directory identity administration
• Windows 10/11 desktop support
• Azure fundamentals

• Basic networking (connectivity, Wi‑Fi, firewall)
• FortiGate and other networking technologies
• PSA and RMM platform usage
• Knowledge of Essential Eight and ISO 27001 compliance
