IT Systems Engineer (Level 3)

About the role

Compnow, an Australian technology provider, is hiring a Level 3 Systems Engineer to deliver infrastructure and advanced technical support across customer environments in corporate, education and government sectors. The role starts with leave-coverage assignments, moving between customer sites according to operational needs, working onsite with project managers, service desk staff and other engineers. It suits an experienced engineer who takes ownership of complex issues and works across networking, cloud, server, backup and end-user technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and support infrastructure and system solutions at customer sites
• Deliver projects across server, cloud and end-user computing environments
• Configure and maintain Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments
• Manage and support network infrastructure and configurations
• Support mobile device management with Microsoft Intune and Jamf
• Support VMware, Veeam, Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure environments
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex issues
• Participate in customer workshops and technical discussions
• Document solutions, configurations and standard operating procedures
• Deliver leave coverage at customer sites, including short-notice assignments

Required profile

• Strong experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support or technical project delivery
• Experience in project-based, customer-facing environments
• Full-time onsite availability at customer locations, sometimes with as little as 24 hours' notice
• Australian resident able to work full-time hours without restrictions
• Willingness to travel to client sites across Melbourne
• Must complete a National Police Check and a Working With Children Check

Required skills

• Advanced capability in Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud services or hybrid infrastructure
• Network infrastructure, configuration and troubleshooting
• VMware, Veeam, Microsoft Intune or Jamf
• Problem-solving, communication and technical documentation skills
• Microsoft certifications, PowerShell or managed service provider experience highly regarded
