IT Solutions Architect

About the role

Babcock Australasia is looking for an experienced IT Solutions Architect to join its expanding IT team. Reporting to the PM, Architecture and Engagement Team Leader, the role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the business. It works with a mix of on-premises and cloud technologies and covers the full solution lifecycle, from requirements gathering and documentation through design, governance and implementation support.

Key responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify technology opportunities and design secure, scalable solutions aligned with Babcock's technology standards
• Bridge the gap between business requirements and IT capability, developing solution architectures
• Contribute across the full solution lifecycle, from requirements to design, governance and implementation support
• Work alongside Project Managers, Enterprise Architects and technical teams to shape project outcomes and deliver solutions in line with best practice and governance standards

Required profile

• Australian citizen with a Defence security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in a project-based technology and solution delivery environment
• Previous experience in a similar role within Defence or other high-risk, complex industries
• Ability to obtain a security clearance under the AGSVA guidelines; pre-employment checks such as references, police and security checks may be required

Required skills

• Technical qualifications such as MCSE or CCNA
• Experience delivering integrations with third-party services such as Azure or AWS
• Experience with Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and Oracle software platforms
• Use of an architectural toolset for design, process and lifecycle management
