IT Digital Asset & Configuration Specialist (Contract) – Sydney

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Digital Asset & Configuration Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of our IT assets and maintain the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This contract role is based in Sydney and will work closely with IT, security and compliance teams to ensure accurate asset tracking, data quality and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end IT asset lifecycle: planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance and retirement.
• Maintain CMDB accuracy by identifying, classifying and registering Configuration Items (CIs) and managing CI relationships.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline asset and configuration processes.
• Conduct regular CMDB audits, resolve inconsistencies and support audit and compliance requirements.
• Analyse large asset and configuration datasets, create dashboards and reports, and provide insights to optimise usage and reduce costs.

Required skills

• IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (ITCM) best practices.
• CMDB structures, CI relationships and IT service dependencies.
• ServiceNow CMDB and ITSM platforms.
• Data analysis using ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Power BI or similar tools.
• Automation tools and scripting for asset tracking and configuration processes.
• ITIL framework, governance standards and compliance requirements.
