Internal Customer Service Representative

About the role

A client of the recruiter, an import/export wholesale marine business founded in 1968, is hiring an Internal Customer Service Representative in Sydney. The role combines customer service, telesales and account management, working with an established NSW customer territory. It is a full-time office job Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with pay of $60,000-$70,000 plus super depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Receive customer calls and emails and turn enquiries into sales orders in the ERP system
• Process online orders and coordinate with the operational team until completion
• Handle enquiries about orders, invoices, products and general account matters
• Contact existing customers on an agreed schedule to promote products, increase spending and maintain relationships
• Introduce new products and find ways to grow sales across existing accounts
• Maintain accurate customer information in the company database
• Promote the online webstore and develop product knowledge

Required profile

• 2-4 years of proven experience in internal customer service or telesales
• Strong customer service skills with a professional and helpful approach
• Confidence in contacting customers and spotting sales opportunities
• Attention to detail when keeping customer and order records up to date
• Collaborative, professional and willing to learn; an interest in boating is an advantage but not essential
