Internal Auditor – Health Manager Level 2

About the role

Join an independent Internal Audit team within the Chief Executive’s portfolio of South Western Sydney Local Health District. The role starts on 15 January 2027 and involves working with executive leaders, managers and clinical services to strengthen governance, accountability and organisational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk‑based audits, advisory reviews and compliance checks across health services and business functions.
• Analyse data, identify improvement opportunities and support effective risk management.
• Prepare audit reports, recommendations and follow‑up actions to drive better outcomes for patients, staff and the community.

Required profile

• Qualifications in Audit, Accounting, Commerce, Business, Risk Management or related discipline.
• Associate/full membership or working towards membership with IIA Australia, CPA Australia/New Zealand, ISACA or CA Australia/New Zealand.
• At least two years of experience in internal, financial, performance or information‑systems auditing.
• Australian C‑Class driver’s licence (including P1/P2) and ability to obtain a NSW licence within three months of appointment.

Required skills

• Data analytics using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Python or similar tools.
• Application of risk‑based audit methodologies – planning, execution, reporting and evaluation.
• Strong problem‑solving, report writing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
