Intermediate Tax Accountant – Hybrid (Part‑Time/Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Tax Accountant to join our growing tax and business advisory firm. This hybrid position combines office days in Maylands with remote work, offering genuine flexibility for part‑time or full‑time hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and small business financial statements and tax returns.
• Prepare business activity statements and other compliance documentation.
• Assist with tax planning and advisory services, including FBT and Division 7A matters.
• Research and apply current Australian tax laws and regulations.
• Communicate directly with clients via email, phone, and video conferencing.
• Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in public practice with a focus on tax.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax law, particularly FBT and Division 7A.
• Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Valid work visa or Australian work rights.

Required skills

• Proficient in Xero.
• Proficient in Xero Tax.
