Intermediate Auditor

About the role

Pitcher Partners is hiring an Intermediate Auditor for a permanent full-time position in the Brisbane CBD office, working Monday to Friday. The role involves a diverse client base including ASX listed companies in mining, technology, financial services, property, education, health and not-for-profit sectors, alongside partners, directors and managers with extensive audit knowledge. Travel to clients may be required on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with clients on audit and accounting queries
• Collect and document audit evidence over material balances and transactions in financial reports
• Draft annual financial reports
• Plan and document audit planning and completion procedures
• Carry out statutory audits under general purpose financial reporting
• Assist senior staff with ad-hoc assignments
• Review audit work papers prepared by junior audit staff
• Complete other assurance engagements as they arise

Required profile

• Commerce or Business degree majoring in Accounting, currently studying CA/CPA
• At least 2 years' experience as an external auditor, ideally in a mid-tier or top-tier audit firm
• Australian citizenship or a current valid Australian work visa

Required skills

• Understanding of assurance and audit techniques and methods
• Knowledge of IFRS or AASB, Australian Auditing Standards (ASA) and relevant legislation
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client management skills
• Microsoft Office package
