Intermediate Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Intermediate Accountant to join our modern Brisbane office. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to develop technical and client‑facing skills in a supportive environment. You will work with a range of clients, preparing financial statements, tax returns and advisory reports.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for a broad range of clients.
• Prepare BAS, IAS and management reports using cloud‑based accounting systems (Xero & QuickBooks).
• Support senior team members on client engagements and advisory work.
• Assist clients with general accounting and tax compliance queries.
• Contribute to tax planning and business advisory engagements.
• Maintain accurate and well‑organised working papers and provide ad‑hoc support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in accounting (or near completion) with 1–3 years’ experience in public practice.
• Started CA or CPA, or currently working towards completion.
• Foundational understanding of Australian tax compliance and accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail, solid organisational skills and a proactive attitude.

Required skills

• Experience with cloud accounting software, preferably Xero.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
