Intermediate Accountant

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Public Practice Accountant to join a well‑established accounting firm. You will work with a diverse client portfolio, delivering accounting, taxation and business advisory services while building long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, providing taxation advice and ensuring compliance.
• Prepare BAS, IAS and FBT returns and assist with business structuring and tax planning.
• Liaise directly with clients, the ATO and other external stakeholders.
• Review client financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a public practice accounting environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CA or CPA qualification, or working towards completion.
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills and client communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or MYOB.
