About the role
The North West Regional Hospital is seeking an ICU Registrar to join its 8‑bed intensive care unit. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time position (up to 76 hours per fortnight) running until 6 February 2028, with 10 hours of paid protected training each fortnight.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high‑acuity ICU under the supervision of a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.
- Participate in 24/7 on‑call roster and shift work as required.
- Engage in weekly teaching sessions, CICM First Part Examination preparation, and the twice‑yearly BASIC course.
- Utilise state‑of‑the‑art ICU equipment for ventilation, renal replacement, haemodynamic monitoring, and procedural support.
Required profile
- Medical doctor qualified to act as a registrar or senior resident.
- Willingness to work in a rural, high‑acuity intensive care environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and teaching activities.
