Instrument Technician (CSSD) - Fixed Term Part Time

About the role

Bayside Health is hiring an Instrument Technician Grade 2-3 for its Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) in Frankston. The role is fixed term and part time, 72 hours per fortnight until May 2027, and involves reprocessing and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment. It is open to candidates who hold a Certificate III in Sterilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Reprocess and sterilise surgical instruments and equipment in a dedicated team environment.
• Carry out all aspects of the sterilisation process in line with Australian Standard AS 5369 and Bayside Health policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the safe delivery of sterile equipment across clinical specialties, maintaining high standards of practice, service delivery and record keeping.
• Work across all areas of CSSD under the direction of a Grade 5 or higher, undertaking complex work that rotates throughout the department.
• Participate in ongoing competency and professional development, and support multi-skilling across the department.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Sterilisation.
• Ability to undertake direction and training, and willingness to keep advancing knowledge and skills.
• Experience working in a team environment.
