About the role
KPMG Australia’s Office of General Counsel is seeking a commercially focused technology lawyer to join its in‑house team. Based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, you will work closely with senior executives, including the General Counsel, to support the firm’s rapidly expanding technology services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on KPMG’s evolving technology solutions and service offerings.
- Review, draft and negotiate a range of agreements, including master services agreements, technology procurement, implementation, licensing, SaaS, managed services and outsourcing contracts.
- Advise on the structuring of and responses to tenders for the provision of services.
- Collaborate with client engagement teams as well as Risk Management, Privacy and IT Security groups.
Required profile
- Technology lawyer with more than 3 years post‑qualification experience in a leading law firm or equivalent in‑house role (exceptionally strong candidates with less experience may be considered).
- Current Australian practising certificate.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
- Strong commercial acumen, project‑management, research, analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
- Flexible, adaptable, team‑oriented and capable of working independently while managing competing priorities.
