Indirect Tax Advisor – International Tax Consulting

About the role

Join Forvis Mazars' newly created International and Indirect Tax Division in North Sydney. You will work closely with two Partners to deliver high‑level tax advice and solutions to a diverse client base ranging from global corporations to private wealth and property developers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on a wide range of indirect taxes, including GST, payroll tax, property taxes, customs duty and fuel tax.
• Research, analyse and interpret tax legislation and produce practical written guidance for business decision‑makers.
• Plan and structure transactions and investments with a focus on indirect tax optimisation.
• Liaise and negotiate with the ATO and other revenue authorities on behalf of clients.
• Prepare tax returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS) as part of compliance duties.
• Report to Tax Partners and contribute to the development of the international network.

Required profile

• Open to candidates from intermediate to manager level.
• Strong willingness to learn specialist areas such as GST, payroll tax, property taxes, customs duty and fuel tax.
• Excellent written communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Demonstrated decision‑making skills and a proactive attitude.
