Inbound Baggage Controller (IBC) – Level 6

About the role

The Inbound Baggage Controller (IBC) is responsible for coordinating inbound baggage operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely handling of baggage, containers, and related equipment in line with airline, regulatory, and company standards. This frontline leadership position oversees operational staff and drives performance against service, safety, and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply security, quarantine, hygiene, and dangerous/perishable goods procedures.
• Inspect unit load devices (ULD) for serviceability before loading.
• Monitor and maintain graveyard areas, reporting and resolving any issues.
• Arrange delivery of surplus containers to the Menzies Cargo Facility.
• Ensure Delta Graveyard racking complies with organisational standards and remains organized.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and problem‑solving for the operational team.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of company policies, airline systems, and government regulations.
• Ability to resolve operational issues within a designated area.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time‑management skills.
