In-Charge ED CMO - 7-Day Block (22-28 Feb 2027)

About the role

Critical Care Team is recruiting a locum In-Charge of Emergency Medicine (ED CMO) for Inverell District Hospital, NSW. You will be the sole doctor in charge of the Emergency Department during a 7-day block from Monday 22 February to Sunday 28 February 2027, working 0800-2000 and 2000-0800 shifts. Accommodation and flights are available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department, including high-acuity critical care patients with a wide range of clinical presentations.
• Remain on site for the entire shift, ensuring prompt and continuous care, except for designated breaks.
• Work independently with on-site anaesthesia, gynaecology and remote retrieval teams, and collaborate with GPs and VMOs.
• Complete 6 hours of SDPR training before starting; doctors are paid for this time.
• Locums presenting for more than 7 days on call must take 2 mandatory rest days for fatigue management.

Required profile

• Primary degree and current AHPRA registration.
• NSW hospital paperwork (LHD specific), NSW Health online training modules and immunisations.
• Fellowship and CPD certificate if applicable, references and CRC.
• NSW WWCC, indemnity, Medicare provider number, ID check and NSW declarations (Hep B, TB, secondary employment, Code of Conduct).

What we offer

• $3,000 per day.
• Accommodation provided and travel up to $800 reimbursed (flights or mileage only).
• A fleet car may be provided on request.
