In-Charge ED CMO - 7-Day Block (1-7 Feb 2027)

About the role

Critical Care Team is recruiting a locum In-Charge of Emergency Medicine (CMO) for Inverell District Hospital, NSW. You will be the sole doctor in charge of the Emergency Department during a 7-day block from Monday 1 February to Sunday 7 February 2027, working 0800-2000 each day. Accommodation and flights are available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department, including high-acuity critical care patients with a wide range of clinical presentations.
• Remain on site for the entire shift, ensuring prompt and continuous care, except for designated breaks.
• Handle on-call duties; locums presenting for more than 7 days on call must take 2 mandatory rest days for fatigue management.
• Complete the 6-hour SDPR training before starting, which is paid for.

Required profile

• Primary medical degree and current AHPRA registration.
• NSW hospital paperwork (LHD specific), NSW Health online training modules, immunisations and vaccinations.
• NSW WWCC, indemnity, Medicare provider number and ID check.
• NSW declarations (Hep B, TB, secondary employment, Code of Conduct).
• Fellowship and CPD certificate if applicable, and references.

What we offer

• $3,000 per day for the 7-day block.
• Accommodation provided and travel up to $800 reimbursed (flights or mileage only).
• A fleet car may be provided on request.
