Import Coordinator – Ocean Freight Specialist

About the role

Join a global logistics organisation renowned for operational excellence as an Import Coordinator. You will manage end‑to‑end ocean freight import shipments and act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring service commitments are met and relationships are strengthened.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange timely and efficient handling of all required import documentation in line with customer and destination requirements.
• Facilitate bookings with carriers and co‑loaders and execute all pertinent shipping documentation.
• Create and confirm transport orders to ensure pickup at origin and monitor shipment status throughout the import process.
• Identify performance issues of suppliers and propose solutions to improve operations.
• Serve as the key contact for customers, handling inquiries, requests, and complaint resolution.
• Proactively communicate shipment status and exceptions to customers.
• Manage day‑to‑day import transactional and operational requirements.

Required profile

• 2–5 years’ experience in ocean shipping and/or international freight forwarding with a focus on imports.
• Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
• Strong drive for results and ability to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
• Positive, resilient mindset with the ability to stay focused through change and challenges.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to learn and grow.

Required skills

• CargoWise (or similar freight forwarding system)
