Import Coordinator – End-to-End Import Management

About the role

The Import Coordinator reports to the Replenishment Manager and is responsible for managing the complete import lifecycle, from factory dispatch to distribution centre receipt. This position ensures that stock levels across all Australian branches remain optimal, supporting the company’s mission to keep workers, patients and students healthy, safe and productive.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and forecast inventory to guarantee adequate stock availability nationwide.
• Coordinate and track all import shipments, ensuring timely arrival in Australia.
• Manage the end‑to‑end import process, from overseas factories to local distribution centres.
• Optimise container utilisation and configuration for maximum efficiency.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders and internal operations teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Minimise stock run‑outs while meeting service‑level KPIs.
• Identify and manage overstocks, supporting inter‑centre stock transfers.
• Handle import‑related queries promptly and professionally.

Required profile

• Proven experience in import coordination, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Exposure to purchasing and importing from overseas suppliers, especially China‑based manufacturers.
• Strong understanding of demand planning and inventory forecasting.
• Advanced Excel and data‑analysis capability.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Mandarin language skills are highly regarded.
