ICT Field Technician - Woomera Test Range

About the role

Raytheon Australia is recruiting an ICT Field Technician for its Woomera Test Range Support Services (WTRSS) program, based at its Centre for Joint Integration facility in Mawson Lakes, South Australia. The role involves providing specialty maintenance, deployment and operating support for communication and mission systems, with regular travel to the Woomera Test Range, including overtime and allowances.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct planned and corrective maintenance, technical investigations and support configuration change activities for communication and mission systems.
• Support the deployment of mission system equipment in support of trial activities.
• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments, including configuration, patching, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Configure and troubleshoot complex network environments.
• Provide domain user support with a focus on high system availability.
• Liaise with engineering staff on engineering and maintenance services for the customer.
• Travel within Australia and internationally as required.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Information Technology, Electronics/Telecommunications or similar qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Experience administering virtualised operating environments.
• Understanding of data interface standards and protocols.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance.

Required skills

• Linux command line interface.
• Cisco network devices.
• Troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark (desirable).
• Familiarity with ISM, PSPF and basic cyber security principles (highly desirable).
