ICT Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The ICT Cyber Security Analyst will join DSDIP’s Cyber Security team to protect proprietary and sensitive information. Working closely with ITS managers and business stakeholders, the analyst will design, implement and document security controls that align with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform event correlation, monitoring, research and analysis across enterprise security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, EDR, email gateway and web content filtering.
• Implement and administer security technologies such as PAM solutions, application allow‑listing and MDR/MDDR systems.
• Investigate potential threats, apply mitigations and clearly communicate impact on systems and data assets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define security objectives and support project delivery.
• Research emerging threats, industry trends and technologies, providing risk‑based advice to senior management.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, exploit identification and offensive security testing, followed by remediation actions.
• Lead the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of security baselines, audit findings and framework compliance.
• Provide second‑ and third‑tier security support and mentor junior security staff.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Knowledge of firewalls, Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), email gateways and web content filtering.
• Hands‑on experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions and application allow‑listing.
• Familiarity with Managed Detection & Response (MDR/MDDR) services.
• Ability to perform vulnerability assessments and offensive security techniques.
• Understanding of security baselines, auditing and compliance frameworks.
