ICT Application Support Specialist

About the role

The ICT Application Support Specialist is responsible for analysing, modifying, testing and implementing site‑wide information systems while providing first‑ and second‑level support to end users. The role involves maintaining operating systems, virtual servers and network equipment, and ensuring smooth operation of business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first and second level support for business, internet/intranet and web‑based applications.
• Maintain and configure virtual servers, Cisco Callmanager, VoIP phones and user accounts.
• Keep accurate inventory of IT equipment, network configurations and drawings.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on printers, laptops and desktops.
• Set up computers with software, security patches, email accounts and network settings.
• Support Microsoft Windows 2012/Win7 and Linux operating systems.
• Diagnose network problems and coordinate corrective actions with third‑party vendors.
• Resolve remote‑access issues via FTP, RDP or VPN.
• Document IT procedures and create manuals for custom applications.
• Provide low‑level support for internal applications (MS Access, PHP, JSP, SQL).
• Research and negotiate IT purchases with multiple vendors.

Required profile

• Year 12 completion or equivalent.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Formal qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with varied stakeholders.
