ICT Application Support Specialist

About the role

The ICT Application Support Specialist provides first‑ and second‑level support for a wide range of business applications, operating systems and network services. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining virtual servers, and ensuring smooth operation of VoIP and remote‑access solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first and second level end‑user support for business, internet/intranet and web‑based applications.
• Maintain and configure virtual servers, Cisco CallManager, VoIP phones and user accounts.
• Manage IT inventory, network diagrams and hardware assets.
• Resolve hardware and software problems on printers, laptops and desktops.
• Set up computers with software, security patches, email accounts and network settings.
• Provide technical support for Microsoft Windows 2012/Win7 and Linux operating systems.
• Diagnose network issues, coordinate corrective actions with third‑party vendors.
• Support remote‑access technologies such as FTP, RDP and VPN.
• Document IT procedures and create manuals for custom applications.
• Assist with minor internal application development (Access, PHP, JSP, SQL).
• Research and negotiate IT purchases with multiple vendors.
• Promote health and safety compliance on site.

Required profile

• Year 12 completion or equivalent.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Formal qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as MCSE/MCSA, Red Hat Linux, Network+, ITIL Foundations and VMWare.
• Minimum three years of experience in end‑user support and system administration.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
