Human Resource Officer

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and high‑performing Human Resource Officer to join the Thriving Minds team. In this role you will help create a mentally healthy and psychosocially safe workplace across the Australian Taxation Office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver initiatives that support the ATO’s Mental Health Strategy and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Action Plan.
• Develop evidence‑based psychosocial safety approaches and contribute to WHS systems.
• Design and facilitate learning solutions across face‑to‑face and digital platforms for diverse audiences.
• Lead enterprise‑wide communication and engagement initiatives such as RUOK Day.
• Manage access to employee support services, including the Employee Assistance Program.
• Apply data‑driven HR and workplace mental health knowledge to provide high‑quality advice and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and sound judgement.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Passion for workplace wellbeing and mental health.
