HR Manager – Capability HR

About the role

A well-established food and beverage organisation operating three sites in Sydney's Inner West has created a new HR Manager role to lead its People function. The role reports to the Executive Director and manages a team of two, balancing strategic direction with hands-on operational management. It supports about 100 frontline modern award staff and a corporate group of around 40, as the business expands with confirmed site expansions and a new venue in the pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, learning and development (including orientation), employee relations (including award interpretation), performance and reward, culture and engagement, WHS and RTW, staff wellbeing and HR policy development.
• Maintain and enhance a functional operational HR department.
• Keep engagement and retention at industry-high levels.
• Prepare the organisation for its next phase of growth.

Required profile

• HR generalist experience, ideally within a broad management team.
• Team management experience (desirable).
• Experience in a customer-facing industry, ideally registered clubs, food and beverage, hospitality or leisure.
• Experience managing operational HR, ideally in a multisite organisation.
• Tertiary qualification in HR or a related field (desirable).

Required skills

• Solid understanding of Modern Awards.
• Comfort with technology, particularly HRIS platforms.
• Proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach to staff wellbeing and service excellence.
