HR Advisor VIC/NSW

About the role

Sims Limited, a global metal recycling and circular solutions company, is looking for a proactive, people-focused HR Advisor to join its team at the Brooklyn Yard. Based in Victoria and New South Wales, the role supports operational teams and works closely with frontline leaders to influence workplace culture and deliver business outcomes. It reports to the Senior HR Business Partner.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, commercially focused HR advice across employee relations, performance management, recruitment, engagement and workforce planning
• Build strong relationships with leaders and employees across VIC and NSW operations
• Coach leaders on performance management, employee development and people leadership
• Manage employee relations matters such as performance, conduct, attendance, grievances and workplace investigations
• Support recruitment, onboarding and induction, and contribute to workforce planning, retention and succession initiatives
• Support performance review cycles, probation reviews and development planning
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives
• Maintain HR records, reporting and employee documentation, and assist with HR projects and process improvements

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline
• 1-3 years' experience as an HR Advisor, HR Coordinator or HR Generalist
• Working knowledge of employment legislation and employee relations practices
• Strong stakeholder management and commercial mindset
• Experience with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office; SuccessFactors experience highly regarded
