Hospital Pharmacist - Toowoomba

About the role

Slade Pharmacy, part of Icon Oncology Group, is recruiting a Hospital Pharmacist for its Slade Pharmacy Toowoomba, located inside St. Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital. Newly registered pharmacists are welcome to apply, and comprehensive training and mentorship is provided, with opportunities to develop expertise in cardiology, orthopaedics, oncology and mental health. The position is permanent and full-time, and participation in an on-call weekend roster is required.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services across hospital wards
• Dispense medications in hospital and retail settings, including professional services such as vaccinations
• Conduct medication history interviews and medicines reconciliation
• Provide medication counselling and education to patients and carers
• Monitor medication outcomes and manage adverse drug reactions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
• Support education and training for pharmacy, nursing and medical staff
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits and medication safety projects

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions on practice
• Permanent Australian working rights

• Desirable: previous hospital experience
