Hospital Pharmacist - Deakin Private Hospital & Icon Cancer Centre Canberra

About the role

Slade Pharmacy, part of Icon Oncology Group, is recruiting a pharmacist to work across Deakin Private Hospital and Icon Cancer Centre Canberra. The role covers clinical, dispensary and hospital pharmacy services in a collaborative healthcare environment, with training and support available. Applications are open to full-time and part-time candidates, including those interested in job sharing.

The role requires flexibility to travel between the two sites, with typical hours of 8:30am to 4:36pm at Deakin Private Hospital and 8:00am to 4:06pm at Icon Cancer Centre Canberra.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services across both sites
• Perform medication reconciliation and medication chart reviews
• Dispense and supply medications and pharmacy products
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health teams to optimise patient care
• Provide medication counselling and education to patients and healthcare professionals
• Take part in clinical screening and review of medication orders
• Support oncology pharmacy services where required, with training provided
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development

Required profile

• Current general pharmacist registration with AHPRA
• Australian or New Zealand experience in retail or hospital pharmacy
• Hospital pharmacy experience is highly regarded; community pharmacists wishing to move into hospital pharmacy are encouraged to apply
• Ability to build relationships with executives, nurses, doctors and senior hospital staff
