Hire Controller – Equipment Hire Operations

About the role

The Hire Controller is the central hub of our equipment hire business, ensuring that customers receive the right machinery at the right time. You will build strong relationships, manage bookings, and keep daily operations running smoothly in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full hire cycle – from booking and scheduling to dispatch and returns.
• Provide customers with equipment availability, pricing and tailored hire solutions.
• Coordinate transport, delivery and collection of trucks, earthmovers and other machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of all equipment status – in‑branch, on hire, or under service/repair.
• Monitor hire agreements, contracts and related documentation to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in truck or machinery hire (highly desirable).
• Strong multitasking and time‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, customer‑focused.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Experience with hire management systems or ability to learn new software quickly.
