Hi‑Rail Operator – Queensland Civil & Rail Projects

About the role

Schwarz Excavations is looking for experienced Hi‑Rail Operators to support major civil, rail and infrastructure projects across Queensland. You will operate specialised rail‑mounted earthmoving equipment, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of projects in sectors such as renewable energy, mining and transport.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hi‑rail vehicles in line with network‑specific standards and operational procedures.
• Assist with the maintenance and inspection of rail track infrastructure.
• Follow all site, client and Schwarz safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure safe operations.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately.

Required profile

• Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to pass a CAT 1 Rail Medical Assessment and drug/alcohol screening.
• Construction Induction (White Card) certification.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Desirable: Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure.

Required skills

• RIW Unit TLIC3045 – Operate road/rail vehicle.
