High Horsepower Field Service Engineer

About the role

The High Horsepower Field Service Engineer will support Cummins’ heavy‑diesel engine portfolio, ensuring reliability and performance across complex, multi‑domain systems. You will work closely with technical managers, project leaders, engineers and suppliers to drive quality‑focused product decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Gather input from stakeholders to inform product decisions and risk mitigation.
• Make day‑to‑day decisions on project details, analysis plans, test instructions and cross‑discipline coordination.
• Apply and improve processes such as ESW, iDFMEA, FIRG and tools like 7‑step problem solving and design‑review checklists.
• Lead smaller‑impact projects independently or own complex components/systems with full accountability.
• Direct the work of technicians and student employees and support knowledge transfer.
• Identify and mitigate product risks, manage system requirements, interfaces and changes.
• Use modelling, simulation, testing and analysis to support design decisions, verification and validation.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and build strong networks to support delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant heavy‑diesel trade qualification.
• Previous industry experience, preferably with engines or field service work.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
