Hepatology Research Fellow

About the role

Princess Alexandra Hospital, part of Queensland Health, is recruiting a Hepatology Research Fellow for a 0.4 FTE fixed-term temporary position in Brisbane. The role focuses on the provision of services to patients with chronic liver disease, with outpatient care responsibilities. It offers flexible work arrangements and pathways for career development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide services focused on patients with chronic liver disease, including outpatient care.
• Potential to increase the 0.4 FTE by 0.1 FTE for clinical research, such as working with a clinical nurse or trial coordinator to recruit patients for clinical studies and collecting and reviewing clinical data.

Required profile

• MBBS, MD or equivalent, registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Advanced training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with a strong interest in clinical research and teaching.
• Basic physician trainees wishing to apply to the Gastroenterology training program may also be considered.
• Desirable: experience in clinical research activities and demonstrated interest in working in multidisciplinary teams.
• The position may require shifts outside ordinary hours to meet clinical need.
