Heavy Vehicle Truck and Trailer Shift Supervisor

About the role

A family-owned transport business established in 1981, specialising in freight distribution across New South Wales, is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Truck and Trailer Shift Supervisor in Moorebank, NSW. The role combines hands-on heavy vehicle maintenance with team leadership, coordinating workshop activities so trucks and trailers stay safe, reliable and road-ready. Day and afternoon shifts are available.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate workshop technicians to run efficiently and finish repairs on time.
• Carry out and oversee scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections on trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults across a diverse fleet.
• Monitor repair quality, run post-repair tests and ensure compliance with heavy vehicle safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, promote safe workshop practices and communicate with management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in heavy vehicle truck and trailer maintenance and repairs.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a workshop environment.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and heavy vehicle standards.

Required skills

• Strong diagnostics across diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension and driveline components.
• Communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, able to coordinate workloads and support a team.

What we offer

• Pay of 50+ per hour plus superannuation and overtime, with pay reflecting experience and capability.
• Day shift 6am-2:30pm or afternoon shift 11:30am-8pm.
