Heavy Vehicle Technician - Brisbane North

About the role

Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV) Brisbane North, based in Pinkenba, is looking for qualified Heavy Vehicle Technicians. VCV Australia is a primary vehicle distribution centre for Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks and Volvo Buses, covering sales, service and parts. The team of roughly 43 reports to the Workshop Supervisor and includes mechanics, auto-electricians, trades assistants, apprentices, service advisors and costing clerks. Shifts run 6:30am to 2:30pm and 2:30pm to 10:30pm, with vacancies on both.

Key responsibilities

• Work primarily on Volvo, Mack and UD vehicles
• Steering and suspension repairs
• Electrical fault diagnosis and repair
• Braking system diagnosis and repair
• Component overhauls and driveline repairs
• Preventative maintenance and off-site and breakdown repairs

Required profile

• Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology qualification or equivalent
• Proven experience in a commercial environment on trucks and/or buses
• Some exposure to light auto-electrical work
• Proactive attitude, positive safety attitude and team-focused mindset
