About the role

A civil construction company in Melbourne's northern suburbs is looking for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic on a casual, temporary or contract basis. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant and diesel machinery so that equipment runs safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair heavy plant and diesel machinery
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Carry out breakdown repairs and equipment inspections
• Maintain accurate service records and uphold safety standards

Required profile

• Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Experience with heavy plant, earthmoving or construction equipment
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attitude and commitment to quality workmanship

Required skills

• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Hydraulic and electrical experience highly regarded
