Heavy Diesel Mechanic

About the role

McCorry Brown Earthmoving is looking for a full-time Heavy Diesel Mechanic to help keep its fleet of earthmoving machinery, road trains and civil construction equipment running safely and efficiently. Based mainly at the Broome workshop, the role also includes visiting local job sites to provide mechanical support when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical faults and repair heavy diesel machinery, road trains and earthmoving equipment
• Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical inspections
• Read and interpret service manuals, technical specifications and workshop documentation
• Maintain accurate service records and complete workshop documentation
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean, safe and organised
• Follow workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
• Work independently and with the workshop team to minimise equipment downtime

Required profile

• A Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification or relevant mechanical experience
• Current, valid C-class driver's licence
• Own basic mechanical hand tools
• Highly regarded: experience with road trains and heavy vehicles, CAT machinery and earthmoving equipment, and civil construction, earthmoving or similar industry experience
