Heavy Diesel Fitter - Mining Equipment

About the role

Komatsu Australia is looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Fitter to join its Queensland mining operations team in the Blackwater region. The role covers maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment, within a roster of 7:7 day/night, 12.5-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu mining equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and equipment-related faults.
• Support planned maintenance and equipment reliability activities.
• Use technical manuals, schematics and OEM specifications to complete work to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate service records, diagnostic results and maintenance documentation.
• Work closely with technicians and operational teams to minimise downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and safety.

Required profile

• Relevant heavy diesel or mobile plant mechanical trade qualifications.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, service manuals and equipment specifications.
• Queensland coal mining qualifications, including Standard 11.
• Ability to meet Queensland coal mining medical and induction requirements.
• Previous OEM training or experience is highly regarded; experience with Komatsu 930E haul trucks, WA1200 loaders or large excavators is also highly regarded.
