Grader Operator – Open Cut Mining

About the role

Thiess is seeking experienced Grader Operators to join its high‑performing team at Curragh North, Queensland. You will operate graders and ancillary equipment safely and efficiently to support production targets in an open‑cut coal mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CAT graders (typically 18M and 24M) and ancillary equipment to meet production goals.
• Maintain strict adherence to Thiess safety culture, procedures and operational standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and crew to ensure reliable, safe and productive mining operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience operating graders in an open‑cut coal mine.
• Current Standard 11 driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Required skills

• Operation of CAT graders (18M, 24M).
• Familiarity with CAT MineStar technologies such as Command for Haulage, Fleet and Terrain.
• Verified machinery skills list signed by an SSE or delegate.
