Health Information Clerk

About the role

Mater Hospital, part of St Vincent's Health Australia, is looking for a Health Information Clerk to join its Health Information Services (HIS) team in the North Sydney area. The role sits within a collaborative administrative team and reports directly to the State Health Information Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, process and scan patient records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of clinical information.
• Liaise regularly with internal stakeholders and external customers, answering enquiries and acting on requests in line with privacy legislation and organisational policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in medical records, HIS clerical work or a healthcare setting (essential).
• Highly organised, process-driven and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or an Australia visa granting the necessary work rights; visa sponsorship is not available.

Required skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• High level of computer literacy and confidence with digital systems.
