Health Assistant (Nursing) - 8 East Ward

About the role

A qualified Health Assistant (Nursing) is sought to join the team on the 8 East General Medicine ward at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. You will work as part of a wider ward team, under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) or equivalent, supporting Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in patient care. The position is permanent, full-time or part-time, based in Fitzroy, with salary ranging from $59,282.60 to $68,384.16 per annum pro rata.

Key responsibilities

• Complete delegated work accurately and in line with hospital policies and procedures, contributing to positive patient outcomes.
• Participate in delegated aspects of patient care while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
• Work within the role parameters set out in the position description and the specific unit duty list.

Required profile

• Completed Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (HTL33115) with the mandatory electives HLTAIN001, HLTAIN002, CHCCCS002, CHCCCS020 and CHCCCS026.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, a customer service setting or similar.
• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, communicate well verbally and in writing, and attend reliably.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including night duty.
• Current National criminal history check or current NDIS Worker Screening Check (whichever applies).
• Willingness to meet mandatory vaccination requirements, including flu vaccination and the Victorian government COVID-19 direction.
