Health and Security Assistant (Goulburn)

About the role

The Health and Security Assistant provides a safe, welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors at a rural health facility. Working alongside clinical teams, you will help maintain order, support patient movement and contribute to overall wellbeing in the community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff with general duties on wards, including patient portering and cleaning tasks.
• Perform security duties under the direction of clinical staff, including monitoring premises and managing conflicts.
• Support person‑centred care by interacting respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain accurate records, follow safety policies and adhere to Work Health and Safety legislation.
• Drive to various sites as required, ensuring timely response to security and patient transport needs.

Required profile

• Current NSW Security Licence (Class 1A) or willingness to obtain it within three months.
• Current Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain it within three months.
• Physical capacity to lift and transfer patients safely.
• Ability to work a 24‑hour, 7‑day roster, including weekends.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s licence and ability to travel as needed.
