Head of Supply Chain and Procurement

About the role

Built Living, a joint venture between Built and Wesfarmers, is looking for a Head of Supply Chain and Procurement to build its centralised supply chain and procurement function from the ground up. Reporting to the Head of Construction, you will set up the operating model, supplier ecosystem and commercial approach that gives the business greater buying power, cost visibility and supply certainty across its design, manufacturing and construction business. The role is based in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a centralised supply chain and procurement operating model, including category structures, governance, systems and reporting.
• Develop end-to-end strategies across subcontract trades, building materials, manufactured components and logistics.
• Lead major sourcing, tendering and negotiation, including long-term agreements, supplier panels and rate cards.
• Drive value through aggregation, standardisation, direct sourcing, forward buying and make-versus-buy analysis.
• Build a supplier and trade partner network measured on cost, quality, delivery, capacity, safety and sustainability.
• Work with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Delivery to embed cost, availability, lead time and buildability early.
• Protect supply continuity through capacity planning, dual sourcing, forward contracting and risk management.
• Build the team, processes and supplier ecosystem needed to scale the function.

Required profile

• Senior procurement or supply chain leadership experience in construction, residential development, manufacturing or a vertically integrated builder.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building trades, materials and supplier markets.
• Experience centralising a fragmented or project-led procurement model and building teams and systems.
• Demonstrated commercial value through complex negotiations, sourcing and category management.
• Collaborative approach and ability to influence across design, manufacturing, construction, commercial and finance teams.

Required skills

• Cost modelling, landed cost, budgets, contract risk and executive reporting.
• Highly regarded: exposure to DfMA, modular or prefabricated manufacturing, residential delivery, ERP implementation or international sourcing.
